Relation with the Secretariat of UNESCO :
The main interlocutors of ICFT are: the Sector of External Relations and Public Information (ERI), the Sector of Culture (CLT), of Education (ED), and of Communication and Information (CI);
The Sector of External Relations and Public Information is the institutional interlocutor of ICFT which contributes to the Questionnaire of the Secretariat on the next Draft Programme and Budget as well as the Medium-Term Program. ICFT also participate in the activities of NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee.
ICFT cooperates with the Sector of Education through one of its members, SIGNIS (World Catholic Association for Communication), which works, among others, in the field of media education and culture of peace.
Regarding the Sector of Culture, ICFT is particularly interested in the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions and attends regularly the meetings of the Intergovernmental Committee on this subject; moreover ICFT is consulted by the sector of culture on the occasion of the applications that are addressed by the cities wishing to participate in the Creative Cities Network of UNESCO.
Regarding the Sector of Communication and Information, ICFT attends the meeting of the IPDC (Intergovernmental Programme for the Development of Communication) and IFAP (Information for All Programme). In addition, the ADG/CI participates each year in the Infoproverty World Conference, organized by one of ICFT¡¯s members (OCCAM) at United Nations headquarter in New York. It refers not only to cope with the digital age, but also to search for and support the suitable solutions to fight against poverty and help people using the platform of e-services launched in 2012 for science and technology in favor of development.
